Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appointed the new chiefs of eight Integral Defense Strategic Regions (REDI) of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB).
On his Twitter account, the head of State noted that the new chiefs complete the cycle of renovation of the high military command in the country.

Maduro promoted Major General Jesus Mantilla to second commander and chief of the Joint General Staff of the FANB Operational Strategic Command.

The president pointed out that the new officers will strengthen the structure and operability of the military corps.

Maduro noted that the changes in the military ranks will contribute to strengthening the FANB in order to respond to the threats of intervention by the Government of the United States and its allies in the internal opposition.

In that regard, the components of the armed forces are preparing a military drill on July 24 to commemorate the birthday of Liberator Simon Bolivar.
